I’ve had a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember.
That old Kodak Instamatic was my first passport to the world as a young boy, showing me that even ordinary moments had a story hiding in the light. By my teens, I’d upgraded to a 35mm and was roaming the sidelines and streets for the local paper, chasing touchdowns, celebrations, and the small-town scenes that make a community feel alive.
Community college sharpened my craft and nudged me into photojournalism, where writing and imagery blended into a single story. My career eventually shifted to public service, but the camera never left my side. From community events to state and national stages, I kept finding faces, scenes, and moments worth capturing.
Travel and nature kep ttugging at me too, offering new cities, countries, and landscapes to explore. My eyes matured along with the shift from film to digital, but the spark never faded.
I’m still drawn to the light, timing, and the flashes of life that deserve to be frozen in time and I still see the world with the wonder and amazement of a young boy.
